  • Jim Donelan

    HEAD COORDINATOR

    James H. Donelan is the Associate Director of the UCSB Writing Program. He received his PhD in Comparative Literature from Yale University and is the author of Poetry and the Romantic Musical Aesthetic, which won the 2008 Jean-Pierre Baricelli Prize. He received the 2015-16 UCSB Distinguished Teaching Award for Non-Senate Faculty.

  • Maddie Roepe

    GRADUATE COORDINATOR

    Maddie Roepe is a PhD candidate at UCSB with a BA from Boston University and the Kilachand Honors College. Her dissertation combines Romanticism and findings from cognitive neuroscience to investigate the concept of emotion in literature. She served as Research Assistant for UCSB Lit and Mind for the 2020-2021 school year.

  • Billy Collins

    GRADUATE COORINDATOR

    Billy Collins is a PhD Candidate at UCSB with an MA from Ohio University and a BA from John Carroll University. His dissertation examines the "Will to Style" that underlies both the major modernisms and the major fascisms of the early twentieth century. He served as the Research Assistant for COMMA for the 2019-2020 school year.
